sun catcher workshop

This workshop focuses on assembling, soldering, and finishing a sun catcher using the wire and edge bead method.

in this workshop, you will learn how to:

1. assemble a sun catcher

2. add supportive wire and jump ring(s)

3. edge bead

4. add wire embellishments (if applicable)

5. clean, patina, and finish your sun catcher

There will be no cutting, grinding, or foiling in this workshop.

you can bring your own sun catcher project (maximum of 8 pieces of glass) already foiled and ready to assemble.

If you do not want to bring your own, sun catcher kits are available for purchase. Sun catcher kits will contain the stained glass already cut, ground, and foiled, jump ring(s), hanging chain, and wire embelishements if applicable.

3. monday 20 april 2026 from 12:00 until 4:00

4. monday 18 may 2026 from 12:00 pm until 4:00

where: west of the moon stained glass studio, llc located at 1057 w busch blvd.

what to bring to this workshop:

• solder, flux, flux remover, patina for lead (not zinc) - you should already have these things, but if not, they can be purcHASED the day of the workshop.

• heat resistant gloves such as leather or garden gloves

• soldering irons are available for use, but if you have your own, bring it.

class fees:

instruction only: $110.00 - includes instruction, supportive 22g wire, and jump ring(s). you must come to this workship with your own glass already foiled and ready to assemble. please make sure your sun catcher has less than 8 pieces of glass.

Dont feel like cutting, grinding, and foiling the glass? Buy a kit instead.

sun catcher kits: (optional) all kits will include the stained glass cut, ground, and foiled, jump ring(s), 22g supportive wire, hanging chain, and wire embellishments if applicable

1. mini space ship with cow = $40 (choose space ship glass color: blue, green, purple, black, gray)

2. mushrooms = $45 (choose mushroom glass color: blue, green, yellow, purple)

3. lemon - $50 - (yellow and green glass will be provided)

4. cat and moon = $60 - (choose cat glass color: black, orange, brown, gray; moon will be white)

5. puppy and moon = $60 - (choose puppy glass color: black, brown, tan; moon will be white)

you must pre-register and pay for the class in advance.
